There are two types of speed upgrades: those for "flingy physics" units and those for iscript-driven units. All "flingy physics" units are aerial units (except for the Vulture), and accelerate, deccelerate, and curve as specified by a file called flingy.dat. In contrast, iscript-driven units have hardcoded move commands alternating with animation commands, which cause them to move and stop instantly at a fixed speed.
- Observer (Gravitic Boosters)
- Maximum speed: increased by 50%.
- Angular speed: increased by 100%.
- Vulture (Ion Thrusters)
- Maximum speed: increased by 50%.
- Angular speed: increased by 100%.
- Scout (Gravitic Thrusters)
- Maximum speed: increased to 1707, regardless of initial speed. This means that if the Scout's Maximum Speed is set to anything larger than 1707, Gravitic Thrusters will decrease it. Since the Scout's initial Maximum Speed is 1280, the percentage increase is 33%.
- Angular speed: increased by 100%.
- Overlord (Pneumatized Carapace)
- Maximum speed: increased by 50%, and at least ~853. Since the Overlord's initial Maximum Speed is 213, its upgraded Maximum Speed will be 853. If the initial Maximum Speed is set to anything larger than 426, the upgrade will increase it by 50%.
- Angular speed: increased by 100%.
- Shuttle (Gravitic Drive)
- Maximum speed: increased by 50%.
- Angular speed: increased by 100%.
- Everything else: speed increased by 50%.
- Marine, Firebat (Stim Packs)
- Zealot (Leg Enhancements)
- Zergling (Metabolic Boost)
- Hydralisk (Muscular Augments)
- Ultralisk (Anabolic Synthesis)
