The Phrozen Keep hosts several UI plugins that expand the sizes of the player inventory, stash, and Horadric Cube. These can be dropped in and used in your Diablo 2 mod right away. Here's a rough comparison of several inventory plugins for D2 1.10+.
Mega Inventory Stash Cube (v1.10s & v1.10 Final)
This plugin increases the inventory, cube, and stash sizes while preserving the overall layout.

Ultimate Inventory/Stash/Cube Plugin
This plugin rearranges equipment slots to gain a bit more inventory space than the Mega Inventory Stash Cube plugin.
Note: I had to edit the following cells in Inventory.txt to prevent the game from crashing: Amason2 → Amazon2, Sorseress2 → Sorceress2.

"Packrat" Storage Plugin
This plugin maximizes inventory/cube/stash size by eliminating all margins. Note that the weapon swap indicator is gone--the weapon slots do shift a couple of pixels when you swap, though--so you have to swap your weapons a couple of times to check which slot is currently active.

Collectors backpack v0.1.0
This plugin shrinks all item inventory images from 29×29 to 16×16, freeing up more room for slots. It is by far the biggest plugin among those compared in this post. Notably, it also increases the size of the store and trade screens.
